SHIELD/ATLAS — System-of-Systems Topology & Integration at Echelon

This page holds the holistic frame the program office, DIANA reviewers, Army SBIR reviewers, and Y Combinator partners are all asking for in different dialects: an explicit map of which ATLAS agents land at which echelon, which program-of-record systems consume them, and which upstream sensor sources feed them. The horizontal axis is the SoS engineering frame BAH operates in natively; the vertical axis is the warfighter chain the warfighter SME operates in natively. Both axes have to hold for transition.

Convergent signal. Five independent sources delivered the same guidance in five different vocabularies between Apr–May 2026 — the warfighter SME ("integrate into PoR, agentic"), DIANA ("dual-use, allied-interoperable, transition-pathed"), Army SBIR ("named warfighter problem, named PoR"), Y Combinator ("one wedge, one buyer, one moat"), and BAH ("capability portfolio, CJADC2 reference architecture, JCIDS pathway, zero-trust, M&S, evolutionary acquisition"). Translation: prove the topology before asking for transition dollars. This page is that proof, generated from the live agent metadata.

The vertical loop — tactical observation to strategic synthesis and back

The SoS proof is not coverage; it is the vertical thread. One observation enters at the squad edge, climbs the echelon stack with provenance preserved, and a derived task lands back at the squad edge as a CoT track on the same operator's existing map.

Upstream sensor sources — tactical-edge open hardware

The downstream consumer side is documented at /integration. The upstream producer side — what feeds ATLAS — lives here. Seeded with one worked example; the catalog grows as relationships mature. Open-hardware preference is deliberate: it's DIANA-aligned, NATO-interoperable, dual-use, and decouples us from any single vendor's commercial roadmap.

AERIS-10 (Nexus / Extended) EVAL

Robin Radar Systems (NL) — open-source community · Radar · CERN-OHL-P (open hardware)
EchelonsSquad / Team, Platoon / Company
Feeds ATLAS agentssensor-fusion, intel-killchain-bridge, wez-engine
Detail10.5 GHz Pulse Linear Frequency Modulated phased-array radar. AERIS-10N (Nexus) ~3 km tactical range; AERIS-10X (Extended) ~20 km. FPGA pipeline (Verilog / C / Python). Open-source hardware under CERN-OHL-P enables dual-use C-UAS at the squad-and-below echelon at a unit cost current TRP/JTAC kit cannot match. Lands cleanly into the ATLAS sensor-fusion lane (RF + EOIR + acoustic) and emits CoT through the kill-chain bridge to ATAK/WinTAK/JBC-P. NATO-relevant via Robin Radar's Dutch base — DIANA-eligible.

Feeds ATLAS agentstak-bridge, intel-killchain-bridge
DetailOpen-source TAK server compatible with ATAK / WinTAK / iTAK / WebTAK. Lets ATLAS dev/test instances exchange CoT without requiring a TAK Server license, and serves as the upstream CoT bus for any unit not yet on the official TAK Server. Repo: github.com/FreeTAKTeam/FreeTakServer.

ADS-B Exchange (community feed) EVAL

ADS-B Exchange (open community) · RF · Open data (attribution)
EchelonsPlatoon / Company, Battalion / BCT, Division / Corps
Feeds ATLAS agentssensor-fusion, intel-synthesis
DetailUnfiltered open ADS-B aircraft track feed. Useful for air-domain awareness baselines, gray-zone aviation pattern-of-life, and counter-narcotics work where commercial feeds (FlightAware) filter sensitive operators.

Copernicus Sentinel-1 / Sentinel-2 EVAL

ESA Copernicus (open data) · EOIR · Copernicus open data
EchelonsBattalion / BCT, Division / Corps, ASCC / Joint / JADC2
Feeds ATLAS agentsintel-synthesis, osint-collectors
DetailFree SAR (Sentinel-1) and multispectral (Sentinel-2) satellite imagery on revisit cycles of ~5–6 days. Ground-truths OSINT claims (port traffic, infrastructure damage, troop concentrations) at the operational and strategic echelons.
