SHIELD ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application.

Information We Collect

Location Data: When you use SafeWalk, we collect your GPS location to monitor your journey and provide safety features. This data is used only during active SafeWalk sessions.

Bluetooth Data: Our tracker detection feature scans for nearby Bluetooth devices. We do not store or transmit the identifiers of devices we detect - this data remains on your device.

Audio Data: SmokeGuard uses your microphone to listen for smoke alarm sounds. Audio is processed locally on your device and is never recorded or transmitted.

Emergency Contacts: You may choose to add emergency contacts. This information is stored securely and used only to notify your contacts during emergencies.

Community Reports: If you submit a community threat report, we collect the report content and approximate location to display to other users in the area.

How We Use Your Information

To provide safety monitoring and emergency alert services
To detect potential tracking devices near you
To alert your emergency contacts when you activate the panic button
To display community safety reports in your area
To process subscription payments through Stripe

Data Storage and Security

Most of your data (Bluetooth scans, audio analysis) is processed locally on your device and never leaves it. Data that is transmitted (emergency contacts, community reports) is encrypted in transit and stored securely.

We use Stripe for payment processing. We do not store your credit card information - this is handled entirely by Stripe under their security standards.

Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We may share data only in these circumstances:

With emergency services when you activate the panic button (if enabled)
With your designated emergency contacts during emergencies
With law enforcement if required by law

Your Rights

You can:

Delete your account and all associated data at any time
Disable location, Bluetooth, or microphone access in your device settings
Remove emergency contacts from the app
Request a copy of your data by contacting us

Children's Privacy

SHIELD is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the app.
